Would You Reject Your LifeLine?

Everyone in the world, for the most part, wants to live life and to live it well. Then why do some individuals reject the Source of their life and livelihood?

Imagine an astronaut who has gone out of space. He is wearing a space suit that is to keep him breathing, living, and moving about in this environment that is strange to his ordinary environment. The suit is well equipped to give him the right amount of oxygen for him to breath normally. Suppose this astronaut decides to live in that environment without wearing this suit which is his oxygen source out of space. Certainly, he would not be able to breath and death would eventually occur.

Scriptures tell us, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). This tells us that everyone living, no matter their race, gender, ethnicity, religion or any other identification factors, is breathing the breath of God the Creator, the LORD our Maker.

This is the reason why, when the Athenians wanted to hear new knowledge from Paul, and they invited him to come speak to them at the council meeting, and seeing the many idols in the city and one statue dedicated to the “Unknown God”, the Apostle Paul said to them that the unknown God they are honoring without knowing,

“…is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since He is the Lord of heaven and earth, He doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve His needs, for He has no needs. He Himself gives life and breath to everything, and He satisfies every need. From one man He created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined their boundaries.

His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward Him, though He is not far from any one of us. For in Him we live and move and exist” (Acts 17:24-28).

God is the Source of your life. The breath you are breathing belongs to Him. Consequently, if you decide to live apart from the Source of your life, then your life will not be as complete as it ought to be. For God is about righteousness, justice, love, peace, holiness, and so on. But many have gone astray, away from their Source, their livelihood. No matter how you are doing right now away from God, know that you were created for more. Because your destiny is in God through Christ Jesus.

Will you choose this day to reconnect to your Source, so you can be all that you were created to be? When you do that, you will begin to radiate love as He is love. You will desire only to be holy and righteous and pure. Jesus said to the people that He is the Life, the Way and the Truth. No one can get to the Father except through Him. He is the one Mediator given to humanity by God the Creator.

Effectively, when you reconnect to the Source, you’ll be reconnecting to life, to divine health, wisdom and riches. As Jesus told the disciples in the tenth chapter of the Gospel of John in the tenth verse, ‘I have come to give them life, and give to them more abundantly.” That is why, in returning to the Source, you are returning to vibrant and abundant life.

The choice is before you. Life or death? Blessing or curse? As Moses told the Israelites, “choose life.” Choose to reconnect to the Most High today. Choose Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. And choose to walk with Him daily. For He is your Source.
